There will be a total of five parts in this story when it is completed. Each part will be of a different country in the Tranquil Expanse, and I will update the below section as each part begins getting published. Not all stories will be focused on the war brought by the Asmelians. I am happy to take any constructive criticism or suggestions for future focuses (i.e. war in a country, an untimely death that raises suspicion, etc.). For constructive criticism, please post it in the comments and I will adress what I can and what I feel is valid for the story, but for suggestions on focus, please message them to me in case I have further questions or want to clarify your thoughts. Important: In the Preface for Inyarel, there is a brief insinuation and very vague description of what has happened to a character. There are no details truly given at any point, but when coupled with a scene in a later chapter, one can decipher exactly what happened to the character. If mostly off-screen sexual violence offends you or is a trigger for you, please do not read. The country of Asmealia was once the greatest country in the world. It was a trading hub for its many neighbors and was the largest country in the Tranquil Expanse, a world that had never known war. As temperatures rose and plants and animals began dying, the citizens of Asmealia changed the name to The Great Waste and moved into the neighboring countries, causing war to break out everywhere. Eshwelah was the first country to go to war with the invading Asmealians, but was also the first to finish the war. Those of Eshwelah won their battle and the Asmealians that were not killed returned to their homes in exile. Powhaneia and Freylor took to their ships and attacked their own cities and harbors, but ultimately lost their wars due to the limited food and health supplies on board. Inyarel, the smallest country of the Tranquil Expanse and only discovered by accident, is still in their war after nearly 300 years.
Inyarel was only discovered by Asmealians that were attempting to reach Powhaneia through the Gloomwood Forest. The Asmealians instantly began killing elves and claiming their cities for their own. This invasion caused the peaceful and trusting elves to stop trusting and begin attacking any humans that could not prove to have good intentions. Only one group of humans was able to consistently prove this - the Tebury Hybrids that had been bonded to the elves. Within 100 years, even the Tebury Hybrids were no longer trusted and the elves were forced to flee their capital city of Gulonde after the murder of their queen. 200 years later, the elves have re-emerged from their hiding, reclaimed their capital city, and are hell-bent on ridding Inyarel of all humans.
