The Discovery

The moon was high in Marbellian's sky, gently lighting up the pavement of the capital's side street. The company assembled there was, for lack of a better word, unusual. All of them were wearing high-quality gear, leather coats with the mark of a famous artisan emblazoned on the lapel, and shiny, well-maintained weapons, their handles weathered with use. In a city like Marbellian, everybody would've recognized them as respected, influent adventurers, but their names were whispered only in legends and myths. The Elite Six, the very best of  the Sinter Guild, and of what money can buy. Their leader, a powerfully built woman with long, flowing hair as white as the moon above her head, hit the ground softly with her shield. The immediate silence that followed, a testimony to her influence and the respect the rest of the company has for her. As much as they wanted to keep arguing, her decision was final, they agreed as much when they joined the Six.

"This is no moment for bickering. We must focus on this mission, and work together." she said simply, her harmonious and usually peaceful face showing an annoyed pout. The rest of the team shifted uneasily around, obviously a little ashamed to be reprimanded like children. But as long as they had been a unit, they hadn't necessarily seen eye to eye. Akkhalia and Vennst, the two raggedy fighters twins, were the boastful and rowdy type, Mexxia, the medic, was a serious workaholic, and Kredz, the marksman, had probably said less in his entire career than Shemna, the flirty and confident Arcanist, in this day alone. And yet, despite their differences, they always got results, whether it was rescuing a kidnapped noble or slaying a powerful monster. This time, however, it was different. Amyann had been contacted by the Headquarters with a top-secret, extremely important mission that they could not, in any way, ignore. Aside from the gargantuan wage they were offered, it wasn't their usual employer of a noble with deep pockets, this time, it was royalty. Mazandrel Marbellian, daughter of the King, had commissioned the Elite Six. They always knew they were popular amongst the high spheres, but to have the Princess herself hire them was beyond their imagination.

"Okay, I get it. But where the fuck do we start, boss?" asked Vennst. It was rare to see him so serious, and Amyann was incapable of holding a little amused smile.

"At the very beginning. The Princess want out, we get her out. We get in and out, without alerting security, and we drop her off in the Southern Islands." she said simply, and the entire team looked at her as if she had turned mad.

"Okay, boss, it's not like me to criticize you," said Akkhalia, seemingly concerned, "but what in Ovor was in  your drink? In and out of the Castle, like that? Even Kredz alone couldn't do that. No offense, Kredz." she added, the silent marksman waving his hand in dismissal. The leader, amused, shrugged. She was, for now, quite enjoying the fact she knew more than they did, but she would have to tell them of the security flaw she had found out the previous night. And once she would... A semi-predatory smile lightened up her face. They had all talked of getting out, living life with an enormous pile of dritz from a high-paying job, running away to the Southern Islands, but it had all been a dream. Now, finally, it was a possibility. She finally had the opportunity of a better life, in a better place, and sticking it to Marbellian's royal family at the same time. She looked over the team, and took a long breath.

"So, here's how we're going to do it..."

This is a great intro into your adventure! All of the characters are described with enough detail, they are distinct and stuck in mind. I especially liked the marksman- I love a stoic character. I will enjoy reading through this <3

Thanks a lot! Yeah he's definitely going to be the rock of the group!

You seem lost... Did you perhaps get caught in an Arcanic Seepage? You don't seem to be from Amaanturis... Come, I'll show you around!
